Artist Statement

After graduating I concentrated in using porcelain clay and throwing which were my preferred medium due to the challenges and aesthetics of the final pieces. Themes portrayed within my work reflect my personality and outlook on life. I want the viewer to resonate with the work so that it evokes emotions and communicates nostalgia and memories.

However In the last year due to hip pain I have been hand-building with white  scarva clay and really enjoying coiling.  Stream-line shapes, vibrant colours and modern sgraffito designs belie little of the root of the technique but are grounded by ancient coiling, incising and slip decoration.
